Macdonald Berystede Hotel & Spa, Ascot (Berkshire)

My stay at the hotel was quite mixed. The room wasn't ready when we arrived late at night, and the promised view turned out to be of an ugly car park and tatty block. It was quite cold, and the air conditioning wasn't working. On the bright side, the staff were delightful. However, service was slow, and we had to change rooms due to their mistake, ending up in a loud, tired room near the main road. The location was lovely for my son's birthday treat, and we're considering returning next year. The dining experience was subpar due to chaotic conditions, but the traditional English breakfast was decent. Overall, a bit of a hit-and-miss experience.
